Adult Christian Education Opportunities

Grace UMC Sunday School is held year round in adult classes every Sunday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Our goal is to grow and strengthen our faith and understanding of the love of Christ in our adults. We follow the UMC Safe Sanctuary standards of oversight. Our various Adult Christian Education classes are outlined below. If you have any questions on which class might best suit your needs, please contact our Director of Discipleship, Tammy Houck at
ABC Class

FOCUS (Friends of Christ United in Sunday School)

  • Sundays, 11/25 – 12/16 – Advent Series, entitled “Because of Bethlehem” by Max Lucado. This is the companion series to the Lenten series we did in the Spring entitled, “He Chose the Nails.” This is a 4-week series exploring how the One who made everything chose to make himself nothing and come into our world. Jesus’ birth gives us the promise that God is always near us, always for us, and always with us – and that we no longer need to have marks on our record, in other words, to be free from sin.
  • Sunday, 12/23 – Christmas Trivia (Men vs. Ladies) and Cookie Social. Bring friends and family members to join in the fun!
  • Sunday, 12/30 – Keys for Unlocking the Bible – Key #4, entitled, “The Invitation” by Colin Smith. God offers to meet the deepest needs of the human heart through Jesus Christ, but this offer must be received with empty hands.
  • Sunday, 1/6 – 2/3 – New series, entitled “Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times” by Adam Hamilton. For anyone struggling with fear, worry, or anxiety, or who wonders how families and communities can live as peacemakers in troubled times, “Unafraid” offers an informed and inspiring message full of practical solutions. Session titles are: 1) Understanding and Countering Fear; 2) Crime, Race, Terrorism, and Politics; 3) Failure, Disappointing Others, Insignificance, and Loneliness; 4) Apocalypse, Change, Missing Out, and Finances; and 5) Aging, Illness, Dying, and Fear of the Lord.

Journey Through The Bible Class

  • Meets in Room 208
