CONNECTIONS

FOCUS (Friends of Christ United in Sunday School)
  • Meets in Room 202
  • FOCUS is an open-discussion style class led by various facilitators. Curriculum used is Christian DVD series on various topics with lively discussion by class members. Special guest speakers provide contemporary Christian insights into current topics. We meet all year long.
  • Sundays, 11/25 – 12/16 – Advent Series, entitled “Because of Bethlehem” by Max Lucado. This is the companion series to the Lenten series we did in the Spring entitled, “He Chose the Nails.” This is a 4-week series exploring how the One who made everything chose to make himself nothing and come into our world. Jesus’ birth gives us the promise that God is always near us, always for us, and always with us – and that we no longer need to have marks on our record, in other words, to be free from sin.
  • Sunday, 12/23 – Christmas Trivia (Men vs. Ladies) and Cookie Social. Bring friends and family members to join in the fun!
  • Sunday, 12/30 – Keys for Unlocking the Bible – Key #4, entitled, “The Invitation” by Colin Smith. God offers to meet the deepest needs of the human heart through Jesus Christ, but this offer must be received with empty hands.
  • Sunday, 1/6 – 2/3 – New series, entitled “Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times” by Adam Hamilton. For anyone struggling with fear, worry, or anxiety, or who wonders how families and communities can live as peacemakers in troubled times, “Unafraid” offers an informed and inspiring message full of practical solutions. Session titles are: 1) Understanding and Countering Fear; 2) Crime, Race, Terrorism, and Politics; 3) Failure, Disappointing Others, Insignificance, and Loneliness; 4) Apocalypse, Change, Missing Out, and Finances; and 5) Aging, Illness, Dying, and Fear of the Lord.

Journey Through The Bible Class

  • Meets in Room 208
  • A weekly Sunday school class that runs all year. The discussion oriented, life application class studies a single book of the Bible for 10 weeks utilizing a study guide. We switch between Old and New Testament studies. Our goal is to learn and understand the Good News as told in the Bible.
  • Current Study: “Be Victorious”, A Study of the Book of Revelation and How its Message Applies to Your Everyday Life  / by: Warren W. Wiersbe

Serendipity Class
  • Meets in Room 205
